Measuring for secondary glazing

1) We recommend you allow a 10mm tolerance to allow for out of square reveals and for ease of installation.

2) To comply with Building Regulations, you will require toughened or laminated safety glass if your windows are less than 800mm from the internal floor level, within 300mm of a door, or if being used for doors.

If you are in any doubt please don’t hesitate to contact us on 01603 424212, help will be at hand. For quotation purposes we will require the width x height x style (e.g. 600mm x 1200mm, Balanced Vertical Slider) as per measuring instructions below.

Lift Out Units – Panel lifts up and out for removal

1) Take the overall size from wall A to wall B and deduct 10mm, this will be the width.

2) Measure from wall B to wall C and deduct 10mm, this will be the height.

Hinged Units – Hung on the left, right or at the top, opening in

1) Take the overall size from wall A to wall B and deduct 10mm, this will be the width.

2) Measure from wall B to wall C and deduct 10mm, this will be the height.

2 Panel Horizontal Slider Units – Both panels slide

1) Take the overall size from wall A to wall C and deduct 10mm, this will be the width.

2) Measure from wall C to wall D and deduct 10mm, this will be the height.

3) Measure from the wall A to the centre of mullion B and deduct 5mm. Panels do not have to be equal.

3 Panel Horizontal Slider Units – 2 or 3 panels slide

1) Take the overall size from wall A to wall D and deduct 10mm, this will be the width.

2) Measure from wall D to wall E and deduct 10mm, this will be the height.

3) Measure from wall A to the centre of mullion B and deduct 5mm.

4) Measure from the centre of mullion B to the centre of mullion C, no deduction required for the centre pane. Panels do not have to be equal.

A 4 or 5 Panel Horizontal Slider can be measured in the same way.

Vertical Slider Units – Balanced or Non-Balanced Options

1) Measure from wall A to wall B and deduct 10mm, this will be the width.

2) Measure from wall B to wall D and deduct 10mm, this will be the height.

3) Measure from wall B to centre of transom C and deduct 5mm. Panels do not have to be equal.
