Vertical Sliding UnitsVERTICAL Sliding Units

Vertical Sliding Secondary units are ideal for traditional sash windows. There are 2 types of vertical sliding units available, non-balanced and balanced.

How it works

Non-balanced sliders, also known as the ‘guillotine’, are the most cost effective vertical slider. These are not fitted with balances, therefore the operator must support the weight of the sash when sliding. The sliding panel can be latched open in several positions and removed for cleaning or maintenance. Balanced sliders are the most complex style of secondary glazing system. Each secondary unit is fitted with concealed, pre-tensioned spiral spring balances, which enable the sliding sash to be left open in any position. When both panels are closed they are held shut by a fitch catch fastener. Sliding panels in balanced sliders cannot be removed. Tilt-back balanced sliders are also available, where the sliding sash can tilt back for easy cleaning.
